Another ritual abuse case

Wales: A vicar's son has been jailed for nine years for raping a woman. Before the offence, Nicholas Vann insisted his victim do a bit of reading for him.

Prosecutor Ieuan Morris said: ... He grabbed her head, bent her over the bed and shouted: 'Read the Bible'. He had book-marked a page about women having to be submissive to men.

“He then forced her to have sex with him. He was forceful and perverted.

Judge Hopkins told Vann: You are a controlling, selfish and inconsiderate man - a sexual bully and a sexual deviant...

“You used the Bible to make her submit and she suffered for your beliefs.

All religions kill, enslave and torture - so it's a real suprise, isn't it!

And all religions are blackmail - don't forget that.

I haven't seen much of that kind of behaviour from the Society of Friends lately...

Any attempts to use the comments section for advertisements will be deleted, and the perpetrator barred, unless they are particularly stupid, in which case I reserve the right to pinch an idea from Teresa Nielsen Hayden and delete all the vowels.

Allowed HTML: a href, b, br, p, strong, em, ol, ul, li, blockquote, q, pre. If your name has accents in it, things will (hopefully!) work better if you use the XHTML entities for those letters. The same applies if you are using a word processor to compose your comment, then copying and pasting the text—either turn off curly quotes and avoid using em-dashes, or edit your comment after pasting to get rid of them. Garbled comments usually get deleted.
