Canada: Canadian border guards have been told that Westboro Baptist Church members are not welcome, and are to be turned away should they try to enter Canada.
Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day's office sent an alert to border patrol tolook outfor people with signs and pamphlets consistent with the messages that the church promotes and to keep them out of the country, Winnipeg MP Pat Martin told CBC News on Friday.
Entering Canada by a U.S. citizen isn't an absolute right, and if you're coming here only to disrupt the social order and to promote what we consider to be bordering on hate crimes or hate language, they shouldn't come into Canada,Martin said.
We're not going to allow these people to compound the tragedy of the McLean family loss, and Canadians simply won't tolerate these lunatics disrupting what should be a respectful service.
Border guards to turn away church group aiming to picket bus victim's funeral—CBC News, 8th August 2008.

Im not understanding why the church people try to make God sound so bad. H md s ll nd jst lke s h lvs s ll n mttr wht w d.
Heh. I remember that group going to my college for a demonstration. (Remember, I'm in Catholic territory @ NSU. I remember even the Catholics and Baptists uniting to make fun of them...that and strait guys dressing in drag w/ full beards to parade in front of them.) One of the female protesters had a little boy carrying a sign that said something like "god hates 'little bundles of wood'". Poor kid. They chanted "Save the kid"...
I'd much rather the "Right to Life" protesters--usually a lot less inflammatory. Plus you can go drive by them on their Sunday with a bunch of coat hangers in your car windows. Most of them will get it.
