Lesbians Are Witches And Should Be Burned To Death

by Red Wolf

Australia: Family First seem to be going out of their way to behave like pig ignorant morons. Lying about their cosy associations to the Assemblies of God cult, running smear campaigns against their political opponents and now inciting violence. It seems that these loonies have forgotten all their Christian teachings.

An attack on Greens campaigners in the Dickson electorate on the weekend was provoked by a Family First representative.

The Family First Representative, who was handing out leaflets at the same location, had announced earlier in the day that 'lesbians are witches and should be burned to death', said Greens Candidate Howard Nielsen.
A number of youths who listened at length to the rantings of the Family First representative took to their car and embarked on an abusive, egg throwing drive past the Greens campaigners.

One missile nearly hit the head of a female Greens worker who was chatting to members of the public with her husband.

The attack was witnessed by Liberal party campaigners who were nearby.

The extremist, bigoted policies of Family First destroys their claim to be acting within a Christian framework, said Mr Nielsen.

The Golden Rule, 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you', seems to be lost on these alleged family values campaigners, said Greens Lead Senate candidate Drew Hutton.

Family First's campaign, based on half truths, outright lies and extraordinary bigotry as seen in their advertising campaign, poses the question are these values you would teach your children? said Mr Hutton.

The incident has been reported to the police for further action.

I sometimes forget that we have the same bigots and morons here that we have everywhere else. Coming in to this election has left me more depressed than any other that I can remember - slime eating pondscum seem to be everywhere and collecting votes. Maybe New Zealand would be nice...

Please get the facts right!!!
Yeh, I wanted to hate Family First when I first heard of them. then i met a melbourne candidate at a party and i thought she's an alright chick. She was answering probing questions from a few left-wing party goers and doing so in a humble, loving way.

So when it came to voting i decided to overlook anything the media said. I looked up the websites of the greens, family first, alp and liberals to check out their policies and statements for myself. I even read the green's community newspaper "Green Times". Why don't people (including the media) have a look at family first's policies before they judge them. Perhaps it has something to do with the attendance of many members at AOG churches and other pentecostal (NOT FUNDAMENTAL) churches.

As for the "family first has a policy to burn lesbians at the stake" policy that is flying around in Australia, I had to check out the facts for myself. If you really want to be informed, why don't you read this article that appeared on NEWS.COM.AU - surely a more unbiased resource than the Australian Greens. Yes I do know that Family First has made negative comments about the Greens, but at least they were based on the Green's policies and not rumours. Here it is, but if u don't trust me check out the web address before it expires into an archive http://www.news.com.au/common/story_page/0%2C4057%2C10967999%255E1702%2C00.html

Family First volunteer disciplined
21:45 AEST Mon Oct 4 2004

Religious party Family First has disciplined a campaign volunteer for saying lesbians should be burned to death.

The man's comments came shortly before a group of youths hurled eggs at Greens supporters on Sunday from a passing car at Dayborough, in the marginal Brisbane seat of Dickson.

Family First spokesman Mark Badham said the party had nothing to do with the egg-throwing.

He did say, however, that the volunteer had been disciplined after answering yes to a question from a Greens supporter about whether Family First supported lesbians being burned to death.

"(Family First Dickson candidate) Dale Shuttleworth contacted the volunteer, chastised him and disciplined him and we've moved on," Mr Badham said.

The man has been banned from any more volunteer duties with Family First.

Mr Badham said the Greens volunteer had put words in the Family First Party volunteer's mouth.

But the Greens are blaming the Family First campaigner for inciting the egg-throwing attack.

Greens candidate Howard Nielsen said moments before the attack, the youths had been listening to anti-gay rantings from the Family First campaigner that "lesbians are witches and should be burned to death".

"There were about three or four of them who had chatted animatedly (with the campaigner) for about 20 minutes, jumped in the car, bought a stack of eggs by the sound of it and drove past three or four minutes later throwing eggs at our people," he said.

Mr Nielsen said one egg nearly hit the head of a female Greens worker.

He said the eggs had the potential to be a "lethal weapon".

The egg-throwing had been reported to police, Mr Nielsen said.

Bwah ha ha! What a brilliant parody. The bit about Murdoch's News Corporation being unbiased is delightful!

I see the less than informed Seeking Lost Found has neither read the post, read the article, looked up policy on the Greens nor bothered checking the policy of the loony religious right stooges of the PM, Family First. If it had, it might have learned that Family First policy has been cut and pasted from Liberal party doctrine and is based on anything but so-called Christian values.

But what can you expect from someone who's kept informed by the PM's press department, sorry, Murdoch's propaganda rags.

I hope that long rant is a parody because its barely coherent. FF do come across as total loons.
