Australia: Exclusive Brethren sanctioned child abuse has featured quite a bit on the Prattle and, oh look, it raises its ugly head yet again.
FORMER Family Court chief justice Alastair Nicholson has accused the Exclusive Brethren church of brainwashing and abusing children by denying them access to their non-Brethren parents.
Mr Nicholson also accused it of failing to comply with court orders, of stacking Family Court rooms with supporters to intimidate opponents, of using their almost unlimited legal funds toconduct appeals no matter how hopeless, and ofunacceptablecomments about being above the law.
This is not new and has been going on for decades. The Brethren have even tried to lobby Howard to get family law changed in their favour to make their abuse legal.
Funny how the Brethren PR hack claims to uphold the law at all times
when they break it at every family law court hearing. Once again, it seems that these bampots are above the law in their own eyes.
You'd have to be highly suspicious that, if not coached, that the children had in effect been brainwashed into believing that they shouldn't see the other parent,he said in an interview with the ABC's Four Corners, which did not go to air.To treat children in that way is abusive of them, and it's psychologically very damaging to the child. It's in effect telling the child that their parent is worthless ... and that really is quite unacceptable.
The problem with the Brethren's inability to comprehend legal rulings seems from their grand poohbah, Bruce Hales, who ranted at a 2003 gathering of the cult claiming that the Brethren church was the highest court
that had the power to overrule other judgements
. While this sort of fantasy is common amongst the insane, it does seem odd that they've been permitted to get away with it for so long. Perhaps there's just no money or votes in stopping religiously motivated child abuse.

Seems that the Family First party has been having it's own share of troubles:

If you are going to stand on a platform of opposing internet porn, posting nude pictures of yourself might be considered a little foolish.

Nice find, Spike. I was writing up the Prattle post in relation to the Family First shenanigans as you commented.
