Irony explained in one easy lesson

United Kingdom: Steve "Birdshit" Green has complained about the atheist bus ad to the Advertising Standards Authority. His cause for complaint? they break rules on substantiation and truthfulness.

Given his previous success in speeding up the repeal of the blasphemy laws, we will no doubt see a reintroduction of the ban on religious advertising any day now.

... and I note that your tag for him uses that label too.
Why is this, is birdshit somehow more polite than dog-poo?
Or is it fear of emulating "Viz"?
